Yorktown’s Victory Celebration Brings Revolutionary History to Life October 18–19

If you’ve ever wanted to step into a history book, Yorktown’s Victory Celebration is your chance. Happening October 18–19, 2025, this annual event commemorates the 1781 victory that ended the Revolutionary War—and it does it in true Yorktown fashion: loud, lively, and full of energy.
Centered at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown and spilling into the historic town itself, the weekend includes everything from cannon firings and fife and drum music to farm demos and militia drills. Whether you're a serious history fan or just in it for the fall vibes and community fun, this is a weekend you don’t want to miss.
Here’s what to expect:
🔫 Artillery demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.—cover your ears!
🎶 Live music from the Fifes and Drums of York Town
🇫🇷 A meet-and-greet with General Rochambeau, the French commander who helped seal America’s victory
🧵 Hands-on demos in the Revolution-era farm, showing foodways, gardening, and textile dyeing
🎖 Family-friendly militia drills and educational lectures on POWs, commanders, and more
The experience isn’t limited to the museum. Across Historic Yorktown, you’ll find the Yorktown Day Parade and other patriotic events hosted in partnership with Colonial National Historical Park and the Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission.
It’s history you can hear, taste, and feel.
For military families stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Naval Weapons Station Yorktown, or Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown, this celebration offers a powerful connection to the legacy of service that shaped this region—and the nation.
And for locals in Williamsburg, Newport News, and Toano, the Yorktown Victory Celebration is a tradition that keeps history alive in the best way possible—through food, music, community, and unforgettable storytelling.
So whether you’re coming for the cannon fire or the parade, the Victory Celebration on October 18–19 is a reminder that history isn’t just in the past—it’s right here in our backyard.
