Fall Fun Returns: Harvest Festival Comes to Chickahominy Riverfront Park Sept 20

WILLIAMSBURG, VA (August 2025)
Get ready for hayrides, music, and fall family fun—James City County’s Harvest Festival is back on Saturday, Sept 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Chickahominy Riverfront Park.
What to Expect This Year
After taking a break in 2024 for park upgrades, the festival returns better than ever with no admission fee and fun for all ages. Just bring $10 cash or check for parking.
Here’s a peek at the lineup:
| Time | Activity | Cost |
| 11:15 a.m.–1 p.m. | Live bluegrass with Code Blue | Free |
| 11 a.m.–3 p.m. | Tractor-pulled hayrides (continuous) | Free |
| All day | Laser-tag arena & inflatables | Free |
| All day | Scarecrow Row – build your own straw buddy | $20 |
| All day | Local vendors, food trucks, petting zoo | Prices vary |
Bring These With You:
- Lawn chairs or a blanket for the concert area
- Closed-toe shoes for hayrides and laser-tag
- Reusable water bottles (filling stations available)
- A camera—the river backdrop and scarecrows make great fall photo ops
Sustainability Spotlight
This year features a “Foam-Free Foodware” station and expanded recycling bins, part of JCC’s push toward eco-friendly events ahead of Virginia’s 2025 EPS ban.
Getting There
Chickahominy Riverfront Park is located at 1350 John Tyler Hwy, about 8 miles west of Williamsburg. Overflow parking will shift to the campground field once the lot fills, and ADA drop-off is available near the main pavilion.
Why Locals Love It
Beyond the hayrides and kettle corn, this event supports local farms, food vendors, and small artisans. Bonus tip: the Virginia Capital Trail is just a mile away, perfect for biking in and skipping the car line.
