Where to get your Holiday Tree in Williamsburg, VA

by Jackie Berberabe

If you’re like most families in Williamsburg VA, once Thanksgiving hits our minds start spinning toward holiday traditions and that often means finding the perfect Christmas tree. Luckily, the Historic Triangle and surrounding Hampton Roads area make this easy and fun, with lots of local tree lots, farms, and nurseries that set up right after Thanksgiving.

One of the best places you can visit is Zachary Wolicki Landscapes at 5085 Longhill Road. These folks are known in Williamsburg for their solid selection of six to ten-foot Fraiser firs and beautiful wreaths. Bonus: Zachary is a beekeeper, and you can grab local honey while you pick out your tree, which is a fun double holiday win.

Just off the beaten path you’ll find MillFarm Christmas Trees & Berry Farm at 4900 Fenton Mill Road. This family-friendly farm brings that nostalgic seasonal charm that so many of us remember from childhood. They sell trees on weekends through the first part of December, usually early mornings through mid-afternoon, and cash only, so come prepared. It’s a great stop for photos and making memories especially if you’ve got little ones with you.

Another local favorite is Hughes Road Tree Farm on Centerville Road. This spot offers family-grown Fraser firs from North Carolina’s mountains, bringing that fresh pine scent right into your home. These trees have gorgeous shape and density, and many Williamsburg families make this a yearly stop.

Of course if you want more variety in one trip, Coleman Nursery and Farmer’s Market on Ironbound Road has seasonal trees and a wider selection of greenery, shrubs, and holiday decor. They’ve served Williamsburg and James City County for years and are a reliable one-stop shop for your seasonal planting needs too.

For convenience, big box retailers like Home Depot on Mooretown Road and Lowe’s on East Rochambeau Drive also stock Christmas trees, wreaths, and holiday ornaments. These are especially handy if you’re balancing a busy holiday schedule or need supplies in a pinch.

And don’t forget Dean & Don’s Farm Market in Newport News if you’re heading that way, they offer Fraser firs, white pines, wreaths, and garlands that make decorating your home feel festive from top to bottom.

Whether you make it a family outing to MillFarm or Hughes Road, swing by Coleman Nursery for a broader holiday haul, or pick up something quick at Home Depot or Lowe’s, there are tons of options right here in the Williamsburg community. It’s one more great part of living in this region, finding traditions that fit your family and neighborhood, whether you’re local or new here for a military relocation.

Wishing you a joyful tree-hunting season in Williamsburg VA!
